Cold and Flu Season

Dear Parents:

As the cold and flu season is upon us, the Christian Education department of Community Baptist Church has adopted the following Sick Policy for children attending our Nursery, Pre School, Sunday School and Children’s Church classes, as well as those being watched during midweek small group Bible studies.  It is our intent to ensure the protection, safety, and well being of our children here, to the best of our ability.

Therefore, we are requesting that parents adhere to the following guidelines:
We ask parents to help us by:
·         Notifying the child’s teacher if child is exposed to a contagious disease.

Please keep your child home if they have:
·         Had a fever within the last 24 hours.
·         A heavy green or yellow runny nose.
·         A constant cough.
·         Red, watery, or mucus filled eyes.
·         An upset stomach, vomiting, or diarrhea.
·         An undiagnosed skin rash on any part of the body.
·         Infected sores on the body.

In some cases a Doctor’s consent may be requested before your child may return.

Please understand this policy is in the best interests of the children at CBC.  We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this matter.

In Christ,

Rachel M Eades
Christian Education Chair

Calling All Volunteers

A sincere thank you goes out to all those who have allowed the Youth Group to have so many great events.  As the youth group grows, the need has become greater for more volunteers for a number of different roles.  One of the greatest needs is transportation to various events.  Please let us know if you are able to drive or would like to donate your vehicle for use during a youth event.

Another great need is for female volunteers that are available on Tuesday evenings to attend Youth Group.  This is a hands-on role that would involve getting to know the girls in the group relationally as well as assisting Amy during the lesson time by helping to keep the girls focused and on task.  Please let Pastor Jason or Amy know if you are interested.

Youth for Hire

We are announcing our annual Youth-for-Hire fundraiser event.  All of us have those chores around the house that we just don’t have time for, or maybe we would just prefer that somebody else take care of them for us.  The Junior High and High School students of our church would like to offer their services.  It is completely up to you the amount that you would like to donate for their work.  All the money that they earn will go into their Youth Scholarship Fund that has been established at the church in their name.  The money will be fairly distributed to those that have worked according to the time that they have put in.  Our hope is to teach our youth basic financial principles.  If you want to put our youth to work, please contact Pastor Jason @ 468-1035.
