Fallbrook, California: Community Baptist Church
"The church with the sign"

Community Baptist Church

The Community Baptist Church of Fallbrook held its first worship service on February 2, 1964 at the Fallbrook Women’s Club.  A little over two and a half years later, the church, then known as the American Baptist Church of Fallbrook, met for worship in its newly built Chapel at 731 S. Stage Coach Lane.  The church adopted its current name on November 21, 1973.  The Christian Education building of the church was completed in May of 1980.  In 1985, a prominent marquee was erected near the front of the property along Stagecoach Ln.  Since then, thought-provoking sayings have been placed on the marquee on a weekly basis to be read by the many who drive by. Today, our church is known as “the church with the sign.”  Our multi-purpose sanctuary (which holds about 225 people) was built in 1989 and has served us well for both worship and other gatherings, such as banquets and potlucks.  With just over 120 members, we gather on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. for worship preceded by Sunday school for all ages at 8:55 a.m.  For many years now, we have also gathered each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. for a potluck meal, followed at 7:15 p.m. with Bible study and prayer.
