He is Risen!

With the Easter season upon us, the Worship Committee has been busy planning a number of activities to ensure Easter is a time of encouragement and renewal for the whole CBC family.  There are several activities and events in store:

Easter Lilies

Easter Lilies will be available for order to help decorate the sanctuary for $5.00 per plant.  Order forms will be included in the Worship Bulletin over the next several Sundays.   You may also order by calling the office.  All orders must be received by March 16^th.      

Easter Son-Rise Service

Community Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Fallbrook will be holding a combined sunrise service on our property at 6:45 am on Easter Sunday.  Our two congregations will gather to worship our Risen Lord to the splendor of the rising sun over the mountains.   Following the service will be a time of fellowship over coffee, juice and a light breakfast.  Easter-themed games for the children will follow, wrapping up in time for Sunday School.

If you are interested in assisting in this service, please let Patrick Hathaway, Russ Hanner, or Pastor Jason know.   We will need help with setting up and cleaning up equipment (sound system, chairs, etc), as well as ushers, greeters, readers, and parking lot assistants. 

Easter Service

Our normal 10:00 am worship service on Easter Sunday will proceed as usual.  The choir will bring a series of anthems together with select readings to bring the Easter message to our worship time.   As in years past, this promises to be a great event and we highly encourage everyone to use this opportunity to invite friends and neighbors.

Sunday April 6

We are pleased to announce that on April 6, a small choral ensemble from California Baptist University in Riverside will join our morning Worship service.  This group of 8 college-aged men and women tour throughout Southern California during the academic year and across the US during the summer to bring their musical ministry to churches and summer youth programs.  

We will be providing a pot-luck cold luncheon following the service so that we can get to know the “Joy” singers better, and so that our youth can learn more about an education at California Baptist University.

Since April 6 is the first Sunday of the month and would normally be Communion Sunday, we have rescheduled the Communion service to the 2^nd Sunday of the month, April 13, for this month only.
